Small Big Things
One of our aims is to put something back into the communities from where our products are sourced and produced.
Our furniture is hand carved, from sustainable wood, by a small family run business in Northern India. We work directly with the manufacturer so we are able to monitor quality and ensure a fair price for the artisans; payments are made up front to local craftsmen, helping to ensure the sustainability of local communities.
As part of our commitment to the local community, we donate a percentage of our annual profit to the Punjab Free Eye Hospital Charity Trust (UK registered Charity No 298448). Based in the village of Barian Kalan, the hospital provides free eye treatment and general medication to 56 villages over a 25 mile radius. The hospital provides essential aid to people who are unable to afford healthcare and may otherwise lose their sight.
We are committed to ensuring our materials are sustainable, and use only high quality paint and wax finishes which have as minimal an impact on the environment as possible. We only use recycled paper and packaging – which we try to keep to a minimum.
By up-cycling and re-claiming vintage furniture, accessories and materials we hope to reduce waste at the same time as giving you something unique and beautiful for your home.
The beginning (2013)
Zahli was created from a passion for interior design combined with a shared love of traditional cultures and admiration of the skill of artisan makers from around the world.
Using heritage design influences, we have tried to create a fusion of cultures; ranging from Indian design and craftsmanship to English & French country house style.
Our products are hand produced in small quantities and bespoke finished in the UK, so each piece is unique. We also source and up-cycle vintage items to complete the look; let us know if there are pieces you would like us to look out for.
We hope you enjoy browsing our collection.
